New to the range is the Annual Pass Youth for all persons under the age of 26, regardless of education or occupation. It replaces the Semester Pass and the Holiday Monthly Pass. The Semester Pass and Holiday Monthly Pass will no longer be available from 1 January 2026.

The semester pass is valid for five months: in the winter semester, from 1 September to 31 January, and in the summer semester, from 1 February to 30 June. Students can obtain a summer holidays monthly ticket for July and August.

The ticket is valid on all lines within Vienna (core zone of Vienna) on the underground, trams and buses (with the exception of special rapid bus lines), trains operated by ÖBB (e.g. suburban trains) and on services operated by Wiener Lokalbahnen (as far as Vösendorf-Siebenhirten).

The ticket is valid for ordinary students of a study institution pursuant to Sec. 3 of the Studies Promotion Act (Studienförderungsgesetz – StudFG) who are under the age of 26 when the respective semester begins. The winter semester begins on 1 September and the summer semester begins on 1 February.

Yes. When travelling, you always need to carry a valid student ID in addition to your semester pass. If you do not yet have a valid student ID at the start of your studies, you can alternatively use a valid confirmation of enrolment and photo ID.

• WienMobil ticket shop: You can buy the semester pass online at shop.wienmobil.at or directly in the WienMobil app. The advantage: The ticket costs €75 instead of €78 and cannot be lost. It is available as an e-ticket or PDF ticket.
• Information and ticket offices: You can also purchase the semester ticket at our information and ticket offices. To do so, you will need confirmation of enrolment for the respective semester.

Before you can purchase a semester pass, a check will be carried out to ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements. For this purpose, your data (student ID number, surname, first name, date of birth, place of residence) will be checked online against the Federal Computing Centre or your educational institution. The purchase is only possible if your details in the Wiener Linien online ticket shop match the data held by your educational institution exactly. If you are enrolling for the first time, you must have already completed your enrolment when you order your semester ticket.

The verification is only carried out after you have given your express consent to the online data comparison via secure SSL encryption. No data is transmitted to Wiener Linien; only the accuracy or inaccuracy of the requested data is confirmed. The online purchase can only be made after the accuracy has been confirmed.

If you lose your semester ticket or it is stolen, you can have a duplicate issued at one of our information and ticket offices or at the Erdberg Customer Centre. To do so, you will need an official report of loss or theft. The fee for issuing a duplicate is €10. If you purchased your ticket from the Wiener Linien online ticket shop, you can reprint it free of charge.
