New lift and better accessibility, more space and comfort
A new lift will make both platforms accessible from next year. At the same time, a bridge will be built over the tracks, creating an additional connection between the platforms. An additional access to Miep-Gies-Park will be created at the centre of the platform, which will provide a better connection to the Kabelwerk residential area and shorten the distances for boarding and alighting.
After the construction work, waiting for the U6 will be much more comfortable: The platform towards Floridsdorf will be partially widened to more than four metres. In addition, both platforms will each have 35 metres more roofing - so you will be protected from bad weather or strong sunlight along almost the entire length. With the new ground-level access to the neighbouring park, a comfortable arrival and departure is possible.

Tscherttegasse station remains open during construction work
During the modernisation work, one platform will be closed at a time and no trains will stop at the station in that direction. In 2025, it will be the turn of the platform in the direction of Floridsdorf, followed by the platform in the direction of Siebenhirten in 2026.

Alternative during construction work:
To reach the Tscherttegasse U6 station in the direction of Floridsdorf, travel to Meidling station and change there to a train travelling in the opposite direction. You should allow an extra five to ten minutes for this.
If you want to travel from Tscherttegasse U6 station in the direction of Floridsdorf, take a train in the opposite direction, travel one stop to Am Schöpfwerk and change there to a train travelling in the other direction.
