Car-Free Day: Your Single Ticket Becomes an All Day Pass
Every day, around 2.5 million people travel on Vienna’s public transport network. To celebrate Car-Free Day on 22 September, Wiener Linien is saying thank you with a special ticket offer: for one day only, a single ticket becomes an all-day pass for the entire public transport network within Vienna’s core zone.
One Ticket, Unlimited Travel
On 22 September 2026, anyone with a regular full-fare single ticket can enjoy unlimited travel on Vienna’s public transport network throughout the day. The ticket will remain valid until 1:00 a.m. the following morning.
The promotion also extends beyond Vienna. In Lower Austria and Burgenland, full-fare single tickets can be used as often as you like on the selected route between your starting point and destination throughout the day.
The offer does not apply to on-demand transport services, discounted tickets, or services that do not operate under the VOR fare system, such as tourist services and the CAT (City Airport Train).
Thank You for Choosing Public Transport
European Mobility Week runs from 16 to 22 September, culminating in Car-Free Day on 22 September.
We would like to thank everyone who chooses to travel by subway, tram, bus, or one of the WienMobil sharing services every day. With this special ticket promotion, we hope to encourage even more people to leave the car at home, hop on public transport, and experience Vienna from a different perspective on Car-Free Day.
