When and where is the ticket valid?

The ticket offers you free travel on Vienna's public transport for 24, 48 or 72 hours from validation. It is valid on all public transport services in the core zone of Vienna (with the exception of special express bus lines). In the Vienna core zone, you can also use the ÖBB (e.g. express railway) and the Wiener Lokalbahnen (up to Vösendorf-Siebenhirten station).

If the ticket is made of paper, it is valid for exactly 24, 48 or 72 hours from the time it is validated. If you have purchased the ticket in the WienMobil ticket shop or in the WienMobil app, the period of validity is indicated or printed on the ticket.

Where can I buy the ticket?

  • You can buy the ticket in the WienMobil ticket shop and in the WienMobil app (the ticket is displayed in the app and cannot be printed out)
  • at our offices
  • at the ticket machines of Wiener Linien
  • from tobacconists in Vienna
  • at train stations in the VOR region (Eastern Region Transport Association)

Please note: Digital tickets purchased in the WienMobil ticket shop or in the WienMobil app are issued to one person (non-transferable) and are only valid in conjunction with an official photo ID in the passenger's name.

Don't forget to validate your paper ticket!

If you are travelling with a paper ticket, you need to stamp it in order to validate it in the ticket stampers before boarding. You find the ticket stampers onboard of trams and busses and at the barriers before entering the underground railway.
