For many years, Vienna has been recognised as one of the most liveable cities in the world. The excellent public transport system plays a major part in this, as the underground, bus and tram get people to their destinations quickly and safely. At the same time, every public transport passenger makes a significant contribution to climate protection, as public transport is environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Why is that? Public transport makes much better use of the available space in the city and transports more people than cars. And that means that every public transport passenger makes an active contribution to climate protection and to the high quality of life in our beautiful city.
