More accessibility and comfort for Tscherttegasse U6 station

From April 2025 to summer 2026, Wiener Linien will be modernising the 30-year-old Tscherttegasse U6 station, which was previously only partially accessible. The station will be extensively extended and will have an additional lift to make it even more accessible. Wiener Linien is investing ten million euros in the modernisation of the station.

New lift and better accessibility, more space and comfort

Wiener Linien has installed a new lift, meaning both platforms are now accessible to all. The platform towards Floridsdorf has been widened in places to more than four metres. In addition, both platform roofs have been extended by 35 metres each – so you are protected from bad weather or strong sunlight along almost the entire length. The new ground-level access to the adjacent park ensures a comfortable journey to and from the station.

By autumn 2026, a bridge will be built over the tracks, creating an additional link between the platforms. And in the middle of the platforms, a further access point to Miep-Gies-Park will be created, improving connections to the Kabelwerk residential area and shortening the distances when boarding and alighting.
