Validity
A single ticket is valid for one journey in one direction in the Vienna core zone. If you have a paper ticket, you must validate it before you start the journey. Once validated, it is valid for 80 minutes. If you purchased your ticket online from the WienMobil ticket shop or in the WienMobil app, the period of validity is stated on the ticket. You can change trains as often as you like, but you may not interrupt your journey.
If you want to take children or pets with you, you can buy discounted tickets.
Discounted tickets
Discounted tickets are valid for children from the 6th to the 15th birthday, for persons doing military service and for persons with a social pass ‘P’ or mobile pass from the City of Vienna. It is also valid for dogs.

- online in the WienMobil ticket shop
- in the WienMobil app: You can easily buy your ticket on the go with your smartphone. It is then displayed in the app. Payment is made by credit card.
- at the information and ticket offices of Wiener Linien
- at the ticket machines
- in the trams at the ticket machines
- in Viennese tobacconists
