We celebrate togetherness

Public transport gets people from A to B, but it is much more than just a means of transport: it brings people together and to each other. Public transport makes the diversity of our travelling community visible at every moment.

Respect and consideration are needed for so many different people to get along together. That is why on 13 September, we will be celebrating a festival of diversity, encounters and respect together with our passengers and visitors ❤️

160 years of trams in Vienna: a unique success story

Trams have a long tradition in Vienna: 160 years ago, the first tram rang through the city, pulled by horses at the time. Today, Vienna has the sixth largest tram network in the world. It comprises over 1,100 stops, with almost 500 trains travelling on 28 lines every day. Over 270 million passengers a year use the tram, travelling around 63,000 kilometres - or one and a half times around the world! Overall, public transport is the favourite mode of transport of the Viennese: They travel around a third of their journeys by tram, bus or underground ❤️
