Fan Zone – Ring

The Fan Zone spans the Rathauspark, Ringstraße (Grillparzerstraße to Burgtor) and part of Heldenplatz. It is open daily from 9am until midnight. 9 giant screens will draw an expected 70,000 daily visitors for ‘Public Viewing'. The U2 subway line will transport fans in only 10 minutes directly from the stadium to the Fan Zone.

ATTENTION: Closure of the Ring from Babenbergerstraße to Schottengasse from 1st June - 4th July 2008.

All entries and exits will remain for local residents (Parlament, Burgtheater, Bundespräsidentschaftskanzlei, MA 42, etc.), businesses, as well as the Rathaus parking garage. Cyclists, carriage drivers, sightseeing tours, taxis and tourist buses will use detours.

Car Main exits leading into Vienna, then parking at:
- P&R facilities or
- Free parking at Krematorium, Donauturm and Auhof > continue on with public transport
THERE ARE NO PARKING FACILITIES AROUND THE FAN ZONE FOR FAN ZONE VISITORS
Bus Main exits leading into Vienna - bus entry ticket validated online is valid within the Wiental/Gürtel = In-/Out-Points at the Ring between Operngasse and Babenbergerstraße (exit via Babenbergerstraße - see map ‘Fan Zone - Bus Zone Regulations)
Parking Seitenhafenstraße / Hellingstraße
Bicycle Bike lanes:
- '2er Linie' (Landesgerichtsstraße/Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz/Auerspergstraße/Museumsstraße) or Ring - Franz-Josefs-Kai - Ring or
- Operngasse - Augustinerstraße - Herrengasse - Schottengasse
Pedestrians Entry points:
Heldenplatz, Opernring, Burgring, Dr.-Karl-Renner-Ring Lichtenfelsgasse and Felderstraße (VIPs & people with special needs) - see map ‘Fan Zone - Visitor Information'
Taxi Drop-off zones on the Ring between Babenbergerstraße and Heldentor, as well as between Schottengasse and Grillparzerstraße.


Public Transport:
Lines 1 and 2 will be joined as Line 1, which only runs between U2 Schottentor and Karlsplatz subway. Line J only runs between Erdbrustgasse and U6 Josefstädter Straße, then buses replace trams until Volkstheater (48A bus stop). Line D will be diverted to Franz-Josefs-Kai

Car:
There are no parking facilities surrounding the fan zone. To comply with security requirements, (escape routes, security checks, etc.) additional parking spots surrounding the Rathaus and Burgtheather will not be available.

Sightseeing tours and the like:
Drop-off zones and stops on the Ring (between Babenbergerstraße and Heldentor) will be arranged. A replacement hop on/off point is planned at Schottengasse for the bus stop usually operating at Grillparzerstraße.
